I discovered my love of cooking the summer before I left home for university and decided I needed to learn. I quickly developed a passion for cooking, baking, collecting recipes and having friends round for dinner!

I love to cook Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. I'm a huge fan of versatile pasta and risotto dishes.

Family cooking traditions
My Mum enjoys stodgier, English grub and loves her Sunday roasts but I've got to say, I do prefer my more Mediterranean diet!

Cooking triumphs
The first meal I cooked entirely from scratch (by myself) was three courses for me, my girlfriend and a friend. Vegetable potato cakes for starters (they wanted seconds!), chilli con carne and rice for main and strawberry custard pots for dessert. After that success it was hard to keep me from the kitchen! It was great to see the surprise on everyone's faces when I showed them I could cook!

Cooking tragedies
My biggest cooking tragedy has to be when I was making a stir fry and, lacking fresh chillies, threw some chilli powder into my wok. Cue the fire alarm and choking!
