How do I add my recipe?

Before adding your recipe, we encourage you to take the time to search the site to see if an identical title is already listed. This can save you the trouble of submitting a duplicate recipe.

Every recipe is unique! Make your title unique too. Try adding your name to the recipe title or making it more descriptive. For examples: Steve's Chicken Curry or Delicious Chocolate Chip Shortbread.

Once you have created an account and logged in, add your recipe You can choose to add it to the site immediately by clicking the orange 'Publish your recipe' button, or you can save it as a draft or for personal reference by clicking 'Save as private'.

Searching for recipes
Allrecipes wants to make it as easy as possible for you to find what you are looking for, so we have created a couple of ways to search for recipes to ensure that you do! You can use the search field at the top of any page to perform any of the searches listed below:

Recipe search: For a general search, enter a title or keyword in the search box at the top of the page. Or click here.

Ingredient Search: Search for recipes that contain the ingredients you want via the Ingredient Search page.

The difference between Recipe and Ingredient search: Recipe search allows you to find recipes for “Puff Pastry” from scratch, whereas the Ingredient Search will allow you to find recipes using ready-made puff pastry as an ingredient.

Browse filters: Once you have searched by an initial title, keyword or ingredient, you may filter your results further using the links on the left hand side.

Recipe and cooking questions
For recipe questions, post a comment at the bottom of the recipe page. The cook who added the recipe can then respond back to you on that recipe.
For cooking questions, you may send an email to Due to the volume of emails we receive, we apologise in advance if we are unable to answer your question.
