About this recipe: A melt in the mouth chicken dish served with noodles.

Serves: 4 

  • 1 (1.75kg) whole whole chicken
  • 100g back bacon
  • 1 medium onion
  • 50g butter or margarine
  • 2 tablespoons clear honey
  • 250ml chicken stock
  • 1 tablespoon dried of fresh parsley
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 3 packets noodles

  1. Cook the chicken in the oven until it is cooked through (the liquid running from it is clear) - usually about 1 1/2 hr in a 250 C electric oven. Once the chicken is cooked strip it and discard the bones.
  2. Melt the margarine in a wok or large frying pan, add the chicken and bacon and fry for 10 minutes, turning frequently. Add the onion. Stir in the honey, chicken stock and parsley. Season with the salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile cook the noodles according to packet instructions. Serve and enjoy.
