My Kids Fave Corned Beef Hash

    35 min

A very easy, inexpensive and enjoyable corned beef hash

    Sussex, England, UK
    15 people made this

    Serves: 4

    • 5 Potatoes
    • 1 tin of corned beef
    • 1 tin of baked beans
    • 1 pint of gravy

    Prep:15min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:35min

    1. Peel potatoes and slice reasonably thinly and place in a pan. Boil potatoes until slightly soft.
    2. When potatoes are ready, drain and empty boiling water from pan. Place chopped corned beef in pan with potatoes and leave on low heat.
    3. Place baked beans in with corned beef and potatoes.
    4. Make up gravy using gravy granules and place this in the pan with the other ingredients.
    5. Leave to simmer until cooked. Simple as that - but my kids find it (in their words)....yummy.

I made this in the slow cooker using 2.5kg of potatoes and two tins of beans (to feed a family of 6). Made enough for dinner with lunch for two the next day. Great, tasty, cheap, simple meal that everyone loved.  -  28 Jan 2014

This is a great simple recipe, I make it in the crock pot over night on low & do not precook the potatoes.. I use the recipe as is but use maple baked beans & add more potatoes more beans (2 tins) and half a tin of corn just to bulk it up a bit...  -  12 Sep 2013

I made this again 'with' the gravy, but myself and my hubby actually preferred it 'without'!I will still make this though, just without the gravy!  -  15 Apr 2010
