Place all of the ingredients except for the olives in a food processor or blender; process until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed. Add additional seasoning and liquid to taste. Garnish with paprika and Greek olives.
Tip:
Black turtle beans, or simply 'black beans' for short, are especially common in Latin American cuisine. High in fibre and packed with nutrients, they're a healthy addition to any dish. If you can't find tinned black beans, use dried.
Very good, but very different from the classic variety. The key to getting that classic houmous taste out of the black bean is the tahini. This is also an easy recipe to vary with other ingredients. Just remember that if you're going to add different spices, use fresh ones! There is no substitute!
This is the best recipe I've found on this site!!! I am orginally Syrian, so we are always making traditional houmous and when I decided to make this, my family was really skeptical. Everything changed when they tasted it and my mom single-handedly ate almost the whole recipe!! (this tastes more flavourful if you double the amount of the spices)
