Milk tart (Crustless)

    Very nice type of set milk tart, typical from South Africa

    Serves: 6 

    • 4 cups Milk
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • 2 desert spoons butter
    • 4 eggs
    • 1 Cup Sugar
    • Pinch salt
    • 1 Cup Flower
    • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Essence

    1. Seperate Egg Yolks and Whites. Beat the egg whites till firm. Melt the Butter. Mix sugar and egg yolks, and beat till fluffy.
    2. Add the baking powder to the flour and sift. Mix the Butter, sugar, egg, milk and vanilla essence. Beat with electrical beaer and add the flour spoon by spoon.
    3. Fold the egg whites in and beat again with electical mixer, for a few seconds. Pour into to tart dishes and bake at 180 C for 60 minutes, until just set.

    I love this recipe my mom use to make this for us on sundays but has lost the recipe so glad to have it back! This recipe is fool proof so anyone can make it without it being a flop!  -  21 Mar 2012
