About this recipe: Dates are stuffed with Stilton, wrapped in bacon and baked until browned and crispy. This is an easy to make nibble that is fantastically unique and sure to impress guests. They're great served at room temperature, so it is okay to make a few hours in advance!

    Serves: 32

    • 450g streaky bacon rashers, cut in half
    • 450g pitted dates
    • 100g Stilton (or other blue cheese)

    Prep:20min  ›  Cook:40min  ›  Ready in:1hr

    1. Preheat the oven to 190 C / Gas 5.
    2. Slice dates in half, and open them up. Pinch off pieces of blue cheese and place them into the centre of the dates. Close the halves of the dates, and wrap a half-slice of bacon around the outside. Secure each one with a wooden skewer. Arrange in a baking dish or on a baking tray with sides to catch any grease.
    3. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the bacon is crisp. Turn dates over after the first 20 minutes for even cooking.
