About this recipe: This sorbet recipe is a perfect ending for an exotic meal. Divinely refreshing, and sweet without being heavy. This will become a summertime staple in your home, I am sure of it!
The flavour was quite nice at first, but it does finish slightly soapy. The oil in the coconut also congeals during freezing and leaves little fatty particles that are a tiny bit unpleasant. Even so, for ease, this recipe deserves five stars. Also, I found it hard to stop eating. If you can maintain the initial flavour for a bit by eating more of it, it's very satisfying. And the lingering lime taste afterward is very pleasant. - 04 Apr 2015
This was a very light, refreshing sorbet but it didn't taste a whole lot like coconut. I added a little bit of sugar just because I felt that it really needed some, and the lime flavor came out just right-not too sour or sweet. - 03 Apr 2005 (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
I cannot rate this recipe as I made it incorrectly, and realized my mistake too late. It is VERY important to use Cream of Coconut (which is sweetened) and not Coconut Milk (which is unsweetened). I think this is why other reviewers claimed this dessert was too tart. I added a cup of sugar after freezing, but before hardening and even this could not save the flavor. Will try again with the right ingredients. - 12 Jan 2008 (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
