Broccoli tuna salad

    Broccoli, cauliflower, onion and celery combine with tuna and light mayonnaise for the perfect tuna salad.

    Serves: 4 

    • 2 (185g) tins tuna in water, drained
    • 1/2 head broccoli, finely chopped
    • 1/2 head cauliflower, finely chopped
    • 1/2 red onion, finely chopped
    • 2 stalks celery, finely chopped
    • 225g (8 oz) reduced fat mayonnaise, or to taste
    • 4 pittas

    1. In a large bowl, toss together the tuna, broccoli, cauliflower, onion and celery. Stir in mayonnaise until the salad reaches your desired consistency. Serve on pitta bread.

    Used different ingredients. I've added pasta and red pepper - it added to colour and texture.  -  16 Aug 2008


    I've been making this recipe for 20 years. It has always been a favorite. I often eliminate the celery. I've also used other onions rather than red in a pinch (red is mostly for color). These days I use low-fat mayo rather than fat free. South Beach diet has changed my ways...the fat free just adds carbs.  -  23 Sep 2008  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
