About this recipe:This is a recipe for Greek biscuits that melt in the mouth. The clove in the centre of each biscuit provides just enough flavour, and is pretty to boot. Dust liberally with icing sugar.
250g sifted plain flour
4 tablespoons icing sugar
120g chopped walnuts
2 tablespoons water
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
5 tablespoons icing sugar for decoration
30 whole cloves

Cream butter, add sugar gradually, and cream until smooth. Blend in flour. Stir in nuts, water and vanilla. Mix well.
Shape into small 2.5cm balls, press down while pressing in 1 whole clove into each biscuit on an ungreased baking tray.
Bake at 180 C / Gas 4 for 20 minutes. While still warm roll into icing sugar. If desired roll again when cooled.
