Simple Grilled Salmon

    Salmon is marinated in a mixture of butter, oil, Worcestershire sauce, honey mustard, sugar and garlic granules before being grilled to perfection. Serve for lunch or a light dinner.

    Serves: 4 

    • 1 tablespoon melted butter
    • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
    • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    • 2 tablespoons honey mustard
    • 1 tablespoon dark brown soft sugar
    • 1 tablespoon garlic granules
    • 450g salmon fillet

    1. Combine the melted butter, vegetable oil, Worcestershire sauce, honey mustard sauce, dark brown soft sugar and garlic granules in a large bowl. Whisk to combine. Reserve 2 tablespoons marinade for basting. Place the salmon in a shallow dish and pour the remaining marinade over. Cover and chill for 45 minutes.
    2. Preheat the grill and set the grill pan about 12.5cm from the heat source.
    3. Grill salmon for 12 minutes, brushing occasionally with the reserved marinade. Salmon is done when it is glazed from the marinade and flakes easily with a fork.

    My daughters and I really enjoyed this recipe. I did not have honey mustard so I used one tablespoon of mustard and one tablespoon of honey. I also used fresh minced garlic instead of the powder. Very easy and very yummy!  -  30 Aug 2009  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)


    I made this on a whim as I needed a quick and yummy salmon recipe. My daughter proclaimed "I don't like Salmon!", but I made it anyway and I knew I had a winner when part-way through dinner she looks at me and says "This is to Salmon what In-N-Out is to burgers". And if you live in the western states of the US and have been to In-N-Out, you know that is a HECKUVA big compliment!
