Yummy sloppy Joes

    35 min

This is perfect and fun food for children. I serve mine with potato wedges and a side salad! I've said this serves 6 but I use these quantities to serve two adults and six small children.

    Serves: 6

    • 500g lean minced beef
    • 1 onion, chopped
    • 1 clove garlic, chopped
    • 300ml tomato ketchup
    • 6 tablespoons BBQ sauce
    • 1 pinch salt
    • 1 pinch pepper
    • 2 tablespoons plain flour (optional)
    • 6 burger buns

    Prep:5min  ›  Cook:30min  ›  Ready in:35min

    1. Add minced beef, onion and garlic to a pan and fry until brown then drain off the fat.
    2. Mix the tomato ketchup and BBQ sauce together and add to the pan along with salt and pepper to taste.
    3. Leave to simmer for 20 minutes or until sauce has thickened up. Add a couple of tablespoons of plain flour and stir in well if you like.
    4. Add to burger buns and enjoy! Sloppy yummy-ness at it's best and simplest!

For adults eating this I'd use Worcestershire sauce instead and add a few extras such as mustard, chillies and mixed herbs to give it a bit of a kick.
