Chicken and cheese grill

    Chicken breasts smothered in cheese sauce with a 'crispy' topping! This is quick and easy to make with cheese sauce mix.

    Serves: 4 

    • 4 chicken breasts
    • 2 garlic cloves, peeled and slivered
    • 2 large knobs butter
    • 150ml water
    • salt and pepper to taste
    • 1 (300ml) packet cheese sauce mix
    • 300ml (1/2 pint) milk
    • 85g cheese, grated
    • 2 small packets plain potato crisps, crushed

    1. Make several incisions in the chicken flesh and insert the slivers of garlic.
    2. Melt the butter in a large frying pan, add the chicken and fry quickly until golden brown on both sides. Add the water carefully and sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Cover with foil and simmer for 40 minutes until the liquid is absorbed, turning the chicken breasts once during cooking.
    3. Meanwhile, make the cheese with the milk according to packet directions. Pour over the chicken, then add the grated cheese on top! Sprinkle with the crisps, then put under a low preheated grill for 10 minutes until golden brown.
