About this recipe:
A sweet treat perfect for picnics and with a cuppa. You could also add in some raisins or other dried fruit such as mango pieces to make it more interesting and healthier.
1 medium - large tin
50-75g dark brown soft sugar
1 tablespoon golden syrup
175g porridge oats
5 min › Cook:
25 min › Ready in:
Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
Put butter, sugar and golden syrup in a saucepan and stir over a low heat until the butter and sugar have melted.
Add the porridge oats and blend together thoroughly.
Bake in the centre of an oven for 25 minutes.
Once nice and brown/golden take out of the oven, leave to cool and cut into squares of the size you desire.
Altered ingredient amounts.
If I were to make this again I would certainly double the ingrediants as the amounts here did not fill my smallest pan. Otherwise a very good flapjack recipe which produced a nice crisp flapjack.

This recipe uses porridge oats.
Porridge oats are glutinous and so this recipe is NOT gluten free.

Now a firm favourite amongst my family and friends! Made plain and fruit versions and neither last more than a couple of hours after cooking. Brillian!
