As I have only ever cooked this recipe in an AGA I would recommend that you use your usual cake temperature to cook this but keep an eye on it to prevent burning.

AGA baking

On the grid shelf on floor of roasting oven with cold shelf on second set of runners until golden then transfer the now hot cold shelf to middle of simmering oven, place cake on top and cook until done.

One of the best cakes I have made. Moist full of flavour, glazed cake with Apple butter. Cooked on gas mark 3 170c 325f for 1 hour 25 minutes. Used 8" cake tin. - 02 May 2016

I used this recipe as a base for my apple cake and its so easy to make and really tasty! I loved the idea of using coconut with the apple and it gives the cake a great texture. The gas mark 4 was perfect and it took about an hour to cook through. I would definitely recommend this to friends, Thanks! - 20 Sep 2015
