Red wine and chocolate cake

This is one of the easiest cake recipes I know. It takes minutes to prepare. The red wine adds a lovely richness to an otherwise typical cake. Top with your favourite chocolate sauce, or make your own chocolate icing.

- 300g plain flour
- 250g butter, softened
- 250g sugar
- 5 eggs
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 125ml red wine
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons cocoa
- 150g chocolate chips
- 1 bottle chocolate sauce

- Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
- Process all ingredients from flour to cocoa into a smooth mixture. Finally, fold in chocolate chips.
- Pour the cake mixture into a greased cake tin and bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes. After cooling pour the chocolate sauce over top to serve.
