About this recipe: This is a French-inspired recipe for a lighter, sweeter custard, sweetened with honey and apple. Unlike custard, it is best that this 'French Custard' be served mildly warm and in small amounts. Perfect for a summertime pud. Abeille crème de pomme: Bee's cream of apple!


Serves: 2 

  • 1 apple (or pear)
  • 250ml cream
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

  1. Cut apple into thin slices and put into saucepan. Add cream, honey and nutmeg. Stir until thick; cream should turn yellow. Garnish with cinnamon and nutmeg to serve.
