  1. Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas mark 4. Grease one 23x12cm (9x5 in) loaf tin.
  2. Measure flour, 200g sugar, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda, 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon, salt, buttermilk, oil, eggs and vanilla into large mixing bowl. Beat 3 minutes. Pour into prepared loaf tin. Smooth top.
  3. Combine 2 tablespoons caster sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and butter, mixing until crumbly. Sprinkle topping over smoothed batter. Using knife, cut in a light swirling motion to give a marbled effect.
  4. Bake for about 50 minutes. Test with a skewer; when inserted it should come out clean. Remove bread from pan to a wire cooling rack.

Great recipe, stood up very well to me making it gluten free and subbing like mad. Very moist, cinnamony cake. Yum! - 15 May 2010

Love this. Makes a gorgeous, moist cinnamon loaf. I added a small handful of desiccated coconut to mine as well. - 07 Nov 2011
