    About this recipe: Rich chocolaty rum flavoured balls. These are rolled in cocoa, but chocolate sprinkles or shavings also work a treat. To roll into balls, try using a melon baller to expedite the process substantially.

    Ingredients
    Makes: 24 balls

    • 175g plain chocolate, chopped
    • 100g caster sugar
    • 3 tablespoons maple syrup or golden syrup
    • 125ml rum
    • 150g chopped walnuts
    • 200g crushed vanilla biscuits
    • 2 tablespoons cocoa

    Method

    1. Melt chocolate over low heat and stir in sugar and syrup.
    2. Blend in the rum add chopped nuts, mix well, then allow to cool a little. Then add crushed biscuits and mix well with a wooden spoon.
    3. Chill in fridge until hard enough to roll mixture into balls.
    4. Roll mixture into small balls and dust with cocoa, or even chocolate shavings, for decoration.
