Egg-free and Nut-free Chocolate Chip Cookies

    Especially for chocolate chip lovin' kids out there, who can't have eggs or nuts!

    Serves: 8 

    • 225g butter
    • 120g icing sugar
    • 180g plain flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
    • 80g porridge oats
    • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    • 170g chocolate chips

    Prep:10min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:25min 

    1. Cream butter and add sugar with a wooden spoon. Sift flour and bicarb. Mix together thoroughly. Then add oats, vanilla and chocolate chips. Mix well and drop mixture onto a parchment-lined baking tray. Bake at 180 C / Gas 4 for 15 minutes or until lightly browned.

    Just made these as I had no eggs. Came out lovely just followed your recipe other than only had 100g of choc chips which worked out fine. Will post up pics soon. They were really light and crispy.  -  04 May 2010


    Very simple and great to involve the kids. I used white chocolate buttons as had no choc chips in. They turned out great! Very popular with the children, will deffinitely use this recipe agaain.  -  17 Oct 2011


    Very quick to make and taste good. Didn't have enough choc chips but still fine with fewer as cookies are very sweet. I did 15 mins in a fan oven, and could've probably done with a few mins less.  -  25 Aug 2011
