About this recipe:
A delicious cabbage side dish, which goes well with roasted meats. Red and green cabbage are braised together in a seasoned Guiness sauce.
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 onion, diced
1 (2cm) piece root ginger, grated
250g red cabbage, finely chopped
250 green cabbage, finely chopped
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Place the onion and ginger in the frying pan and cook until tender.
- Mix in red and green cabbage and cook for about 2 minutes. Pour in the Guinness. Season with salt and pepper.
- Reduce heat to medium, cover frying pan and cook for 5 more minutes or until cabbage is tender.
