About this recipe: This dessert is super-easy to make and tastes fab. Crisp meringue is topped with double cream and fresh fruit. Simple and delicious!


Serves: 6 

  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 300g caster sugar
  • 1 teaspoon arrowroot powder
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 4 tablespoons boiling water
  • 300ml double cream
  • fresh fruit for decoration

Prep:30min  ›  Cook:40min  ›  Extra time:4hr cooling  ›  Ready in:5hr10min 

  1. Preheat oven to 150 C / Gas 2. Place all ingredients in large bowl and beat until thick, about 20 minutes. Place in greased large round pie dish.
  2. Cook for 30 minutes in preheated oven, then reduce oven to 110 C / Gas 1/4 for a further 20 minutes.
  3. Switch oven off and leave pavlova in oven until fully cool. Decorate with cream and sliced fruit.
