To make the meatloaf: Combine beef, sausagemeat, breadcrumbs, onions, salt, pepper, garlic, parsley, curry and egg in a large bowl. Mix well.
In a small bowl, mix together milk and water. Gradually add to meat mixture, a little at a time until it is smooth but firm. Shape into a loaf and place into a greased baking tin.
Bake for 30 minutes at 190 C / Gas 5. While the meatloaf is cooking, make up the sauce.
To make the sauce: Saute the onions in butter until golden. Add the tomato ketchup, wine, Worcestershire sauce, dark brown soft sugar, water, vinegar, coffee and lemon juice. Bring slowly to the boil, lower heat and simmer for 10 or so minutes.
After the meatloaf has cooked for 30 minutes, pour half the sauce over the meatloaf, return it to the oven and bake for another 45 minutes, basting often with remaining sauce.
Serve the loaf hot with tomato sauce or the remaining sauce.
