- 200g (7 oz) caster sugar
- 225ml (8 fl oz) orange juice
- 350g (12 oz) fresh cranberries
Prep:5min › Cook:10min › Ready in:15min
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, dissolve the sugar in the orange juice. Stir in the cranberries, and cook until they start to pop (about 10 minutes). Remove from heat, and transfer to a bowl. Cranberry sauce will thicken as it cools.
Used different ingredients. This was wonderful sauce. I made it especially for my Dad as he loves cranberry sauce with his turkey. Both him and my grandmother raved at how delicious it was. I did make a few changes as suggested by other reviewers: I used half caster & half dark brown sugar, half water & half orange juice. I also put just a touch (probably less than 1/8 tsp) of cinnamon. Thank you so much for sharing such a great recipe. - 24 Jul 2008
Very easy to make. I took the suggestions of using half caster sugar and half brown sugar. Furthermore I also used 150ml orange juice and 75ml water and added the zest of one orange. When the sauce was cooked I blended it just cause we do not like chunky cranberry sauce. It jelled up nicely and the taste is wonderful with the hint of orange. Thank you for submitting this easy and tasty recipe. - 21 Nov 2010
