2 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and chopped into small chunks
2 sheets puff pastry
2 tablespoons plain flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1-2 teaspoons cinnamon or to taste
2 tablespoons water
1 egg, beaten

Preheat oven to 200 C / Gas 6.
Put apples in a bowl with water, flour, sugar and cinnamon. Mix well.
Cut pastry sheets in half diagonally. Place 1/4 of the apple filling in the centre of each pastry half.
Brush egg around the egdges to stick the pastry together. Prick the pastry with a fork and brush lightly with egg.
Bake until pastry is puffed and golden brown. Dust with icing sugar, if desired. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream
This was quick, easy and tasty, my 11yr old daughter made them at new year as we had left over puff pastry from our dinner and plenty apples in the fruit bowl. We forgot to dust with icing sugar before serving but delicious all the same. - 15 Jan 2012
