About this recipe: This quick and easy dish can be thrown together in less than 30 minutes. Pasta is tossed with a bacon and tomato sauce. Enjoy with garlic bread and/or grated cheese, if desired.


Serves: 4 

  • 250g pasta
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped garlic
  • 1/2 small onion, diced
  • 200g bacon, diced
  • 1 (400g) tin chopped tomatoes with juice
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • basil to taste
  • salt and pepper to taste

  1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to the boil. Cook pasta according to the packet's instructions.
  2. Meanwhile, heat olive oil in a frying pan. Saute garlic and onions until the onions are translucent.
  3. Stir in the bacon and fry until nicely browned. Add the tinned tomatoes and heat to simmering.
  4. Add a splash of Worcestershire sauce, basil, salt and pepper and stir.
  5. To serve, pour sauce over the pasta and toss.
