This moist Turkish cake is packed full of orangy goodness and is gluten-free. Whole oranges are simmered until tender, blitzed with eggs, sugar, lemon juice, baking powder and ground almonds, before being baked to perfection.
Didn't have enough ground almonds so used 190 g quick cook polenta grain and 90 g ground almonds. Reckon that 1/2 amount would be fine in 6"or 7" round tin. Finished it with simple choc ganache. Kept moist for ages. Great and easy recipe - 02 May 2015

Had a surplus of oranges and decided to try this recipe. Unfortunatly mine stuck to the pan and was a bit too moist. I sugest that you also line the pan and cook it a little bit longer. It is not a sweet cake, I put icing sugar on it but think it would be nicer with on orange flavour icing. - 02 Aug 2009 (Review from Allrecipes AU | NZ)
