    About this recipe: These pasties are easy to make and taste fantastic. Puff pastry encases a creamy chicken and vegetable filling. Enjoy for lunch, dinner or general snacking.

    Makes: 4 pasties

    • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
    • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
    • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
    • 275g cooked chicken, roughly chopped
    • 300g frozen peas, carrots and sweetcorn mix
    • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
    • 125ml soured cream
    • 4 tablespoons grated Cheddar cheese
    • 1 egg, lightly beaten
    • 4 sheets puff pastry

    1. Preheat oven to 220 C / Gas 7. Grease a baking tray.
    2. Heat oil in large frying pan. Saute garlic and onion, until the onion turns soft.
    3. Add chicken, vegetables, mustard, soured cream and cheese; stir until hot.
    4. Cut a 22cm circle from each pastry sheet.
    5. Place 1/4 of the filling in centre of each pastry circle. Brush the edges with beaten egg.
    6. Fold over to enclose the filling and pinch edges together.
    7. Place on baking tray and brush with remaining egg.
    8. Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes or until lightly brown.
