Chilli Cheese Canapés

    Ready-made vol-au-vent cases make these canapés a cinch. They're filled with a simple mix of cheese, green chillies and bacon, then lightly topped with breadcrumbs. You can use jarred jalapeno chillies instead of fresh green chillies if desired.

    Serves: 12 

    • 12 vol-au-vent cases, such as Jus-Rol
    • 125g cream cheese, softened
    • 60g grated Cheddar cheese
    • 2 green chillies, seeded and chopped
    • 4 tablespoons diced and cooked bacon
    • 2 tablespoons dried breadcrumbs

    1. Preheat an oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Place vol-au-vent cases onto a baking tray.
    2. Stir together cream cheese, Cheddar cheese and chillies in a bowl. Spoon mixture into cases. Sprinkle bacon over on top, then breadcrumbs. Bake in preheated oven until golden brown, about 15 to 20 minutes. Serve warm.
