    About this recipe: This onion soup is super-easy to make. Onions are sauteed, then simmered with a meat stock and condensed soup. The resulting soup is delicious. Serve as a starter, snack or a main meal with a crusty bread roll.

    Serves: 8 

    • 30g margarine
    • 1.35kg onions, sliced
    • 900ml concentrated beef stock
    • 600ml concentrated chicken stock
    • 1 (295g) tin cream of mushroom condensed soup
    • 2 tablespoons plain flour
    • salt to taste
    • ground black pepper to taste

    1. Melt the margarine in a large stock pot. Add the onions and cook over medium heat until the onions are translucent and tender.
    2. Stir in the flour. Blend in the stocks and soup. Bring to the boil, then reduce to a simmer. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
