In a large saucepan, combine custard powder, dark brown soft sugar and pumpkin pie spice. Mix well, then add pumpkin puree, condensed milk and egg. Whisk mixture until smooth, then cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to the boil. Boil and stir 1 minute.
Pour mixture into baked pastry case and chill. Garnish with whipped cream before serving.
Pumpkin puree can be purchased online.
Pumpkin pie spice:
This can be made by combining 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger, 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg and 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice.

Couldnt get Pumpkin to make this as it was out of Season..... and I wasnt prepared to wait to get Pumpkin puree by mail order. So I used Butternut Squash instead!!! Just as tasty - 10 May 2011
