This is a nutritious and low-fat meal that is suitable for vegetarians and vegans. I think a lot depends on the type of barbecue sauce you use, I had 'Newman's Own' and I felt I could have added more than the 4 tablespoons in the recipe. If I was making this again I would add another stock cube too, but otherwise it was a healthy and warming autumn supper!  -  15 Sep 2012

Easy and a wonderful meal, especially as a winter warmer...but hey all year round!  -  21 Dec 2016

This Argentine lentil stew is surprisingly delicious!!! I followed the recipe precisely and the stew turned out great! The ingredients combined very well. The lentils are soft while the vegetables (and apples) remain slightly crisp. The stew is a little spicy, a little sweet, and very filling; a perfect meal for the cold winter nights. I am very pleased with this recipe and it will definitely become a regular meal in my home. This is the best recipe I have found on allrecipes.com, I would rate it a 10 if possible!  -  10 Dec 2006  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
