Cheese and beer soup

    The wonderful combination of cheese and beer come together in this delicious soup. It's creamy, rich and truly delectable. Serve with fresh, crusty bread rolls.

    Serves: 12 

    • 2 litres milk
    • 1 1/2 tablespoons chicken stock granules
    • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    • 1 tablespoon hot pepper sauce
    • 1/2 tablespoon salt
    • 6 tablespoons cornflour
    • 125ml water
    • 350ml dark beer
    • 1 1/3 (350g) tubs cheese sauce

    1. In a large pot over medium heat, combine the milk, stock granules, Worcestershire sauce, hot pepper sauce and salt. Bring close to the boil.
    2. In a small bowl, dissolve the cornflour in the water and add to the soup, stirring well. Add the beer and the cheese sauce, reduce heat to low and mix well. Allow to heat through before serving.
