    About this recipe: Dutch recipe for french toast. You can take the crusts off, but you don't have to. Enjoy, or in Dutch: eet smakelijk!

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 350ml (12 fl oz) semi skimmed milk
    • 1 egg
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 1 tablespoon caster sugar
    • 8 slices day-old bread
    • 2 tablespoons dark brown soft sugar

    Method
    Prep:5min  ›  Cook:5min  ›  Ready in:10min 

    1. In a large bowl, combine milk, egg, cinnamon and sugar. Soak bread in the egg mixture.
    2. Heat a lightly oiled frying pan over medium high heat. Cook until bread slices are golden brown on both sides. Sprinkle with brown sugar and serve hot.

    It was to rich for me, the milk to egg ratio makes it like very sweet fried bread that is soggy in the middle.  -  30 Oct 2014
