About this recipe: A hot and spicy chicken soup. Chicken is simmered with green chillies in a thick, creamy soup base. Serve with fresh crusty bread for lunch or dinner.


Serves: 6 

  • 115g butter
  • 100g plain flour
  • 475ml milk
  • 750ml chicken stock
  • 275g cooked, boneless and skinless chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 70g chopped green chillies
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 pinch garlic granules

  1. In a large pot melt butter. Add flour and stir the resulting paste over medium heat. Add the milk and chicken stock and beat to eliminate any lumps. Bring to the boil and reduce heat to simmer.
  2. Add the chicken, chillies, salt, pepper and garlic granules to taste. Stir well and cover. Simmer for 30 minutes and serve.
