    About this recipe: This is an Italian pasta dish, which is not only quick and easy to make, it's also easy on the budget. Spaghetti is tossed with sauteed garlic, mushrooms and onions. Perfect for lunch or dinner.

    Serves: 8 

    • 450g spaghetti
    • 50g butter
    • 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
    • 225g fresh mushrooms, sliced
    • 1 onion, chopped
    • salt and pepper to taste

    1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to the boil. Add spaghetti and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain, but do not rinse.
    2. Meanwhile, melt butter in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Saute garlic, mushrooms and onion until tender. Toss with cooked spaghetti. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
