Pear and custard tart

    1 hour 5 min

This pear tart is absolutely delicious. A shortcrust pastry case is filled with sliced pears and custard, before being baked to perfection. It's the perfect autumn treat to enjoy any time of the year.

best dessert I have ever eaten or made really easy to make recommend. put on ground almonds just as the custard is setting so they don't sink into the custard and they go golden brown when you bring it out of the oven.  -  17 Oct 2013

Well, I'm confused this is called 'custard' as there is no milk or cream in it. All I ended up with was a ridiculously sweet thickened gloop! Really not good. Your thoughts please........  -  13 Feb 2017

Great taste! I substituted vanilla extract for almond extract, added ground almonds on top and served it with caramel sauce. The combination is just perfect!  -  28 Sep 2016
