About this recipe: A smooth, green and spicy salsa. Coriander, garlic, chillies, lettuce, avocados, olive oil and water are blitzed together in a liquidiser. Enjoy as a dip, condiment or as a sauce.


Serves: 10 

  • 45g chopped, fresh coriander
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 tinned poblano chillies, seeded and chopped
  • 3 Scotch bonnet chillies, chopped with seeds
  • 110g finely chopped iceberg lettuce
  • 2 avocados, halved, pitted and peeled
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 250ml water

  1. Place the coriander, garlic, salt, poblano chillies, Scotch bonnet chillies, lettuce, avocado, olive oil and water into a liquidiser. Puree until smooth.


Tinned poblano chillies can be purchased in Hispanic speciality shops or online. Alternatively, use fresh mild chillies to taste.
