    About this recipe: A wonderful meal in one dish, which is quick and easy to make. Beef flavoured rice is cooked with venison, peppers and onions. Enjoy anytime of the week.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
    • 450g venison stewing meat, diced
    • 1 green pepper, seeded and sliced into strips
    • 1 red pepper, seeded and sliced into strips
    • 1 small onion, chopped
    • 1 2/3 (120g) packets beef flavoured savoury rice, such as Batchelors

    Method
    Prep:15min  ›  Cook:25min  ›  Ready in:40min 

    1. Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the venison chunks and cook until nicely browned on the outside and almost cooked through.
    2. Prepare the beef flavoured rice mix according to package instructions. While the rice is cooking, add the venison, green pepper, red pepper and onion. Simmer until rice is done and peppers are tender.

    This was very good! However, I baked the venison tips in the oven for 3 hours to get it just right tender. As you know, wild game is tough unless you take special care with it. A crockpot would cook it tender, too, but I didn't have all day to wait. I then added it to the rice mixture. My huband loved this and so did I.     This recipe couldn't have been easier! I followed the recipe exactly and my 7 year old ate 3 helpings! Venison always sits in our freezer because I am too lazy to do all the weird things people recommend to get rid of the gamey flavor, but this recipe was sooooo easy that I will probably make it again soon.
