About this recipe: This is the perfect marinade for chicken or steak. It's made by mixing together oil, garlic, whisky, orange juice, lime juice, ground cumin and soy sauce. If you like your meat spicy, add some chilli powder to taste.


Serves: 8 

  • 4 tablespoons rapeseed oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
  • 125ml whisky
  • 125ml orange juice
  • 125ml lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 125ml reduced salt soy sauce

  1. To make the marinade, whisk together the rapeseed oil, garlic, whisky, orange juice, lime juice, cumin and soy sauce.
  2. To use the marinade, pour into a resealable plastic bag. Add up to 900g of meat, coat with the marinade, squeeze out excess air and seal the bag. Marinate in the refrigerator at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
