Pork and Cauliflower Stir Fry

    A simple, yet delectable stir fry dish. Sliced pork is marinated before being stir-fried with pre-cooked cauliflower and dried shrimp. Serve as a side dish with freshly cooked rice.

    Makes: 3 - 4 servings

    • Marinade
    • 1/2 tablespoon sugar
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 tablespoon light soy sauce or 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
    • 1-2 tablespoons cornflour mixed in 1 tablespoon water
    • 225g pork fillet, sliced
    • 1 head cauliflower, cut into florets
    • 1 tablespoon groundnut oil
    • 6 dried shrimp, soaked
    • 250ml water

    1. Make the marinade by mixing together the sugar, salt, soy sauce and cornflour slurry. Mix in the pork, let marinate for 15 minutes.
    2. Bring a large saucepan of water to the boil. Add the cauliflower and cook for 3 minutes or until tender. Drain and cool under a running cold tap. Set aside.
    3. Heat a large frying pan with 1 tablespoon oil over high heat. Stir-fry the pork until it is cooked through, about 3-5 minutes. Stir in the shrimp and stir-fry until fragrant, 2-3 minutes. Stir in cauliflower florets.
    4. Add 250ml water and bring it to the boil. Cover the pan with a lid and simmer for 10 minutes. Add some salt to taste and serve hot.


    Dried shrimp can be purchased in Chinese/Oriental speciality stores or online.
