Kimchi and bean sprout stir fry

    This healthy Korean-inspired side dish is delicious! Kimchi, bean sprouts and onions are quickly stir-fried, before being sprinkled with sesame oil and served. Serve with rice.

    Serves: 2 

    • 1 tablespoon oil
    • 4 to 5 pieces kimchi, finely chopped
    • 225g bean sprouts
    • 4 spring onions, chopped into 2.5cm pieces
    • 4 tablespoons water
    • salt, to taste
    • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

    1. Heat a large frying pan with 1 tablespoon oil over high heat. Stir-fry the bean sprouts, 1 minute. Add the kimchi and spring onions.
    2. Add the water, cover the pan and simmer for 3-4 minutes. Add salt to taste, turn off the heat and sprinkle over the sesame oil before serving.


    Kimchi is a traditional Korean pickled vegetable side dish. You can purchase kimchi in jars at Chinese/Oriental speciality stores or online.
