Marinate the squid in garlic salt, sesame oil and white pepper for 15 minutes.
Heat a medium frying pan with 1 tablespoon oil over high heat. Stir-fry the garlic and squid for 4-5 minutes. Set aside.
Heat the same frying pan with 1 tablespoon oil over high heat. Stir-fry the garlic shoots for 2-3 minutes. Add salt and just enough hot water to cover 1/2 of the ingredients. Cover and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
Return the squid back into the pan, add soy sauce and stir. Serve.
