About this recipe: As there are currently such juicy blood oranges in the shops, I made this orange creme on Sunday after a family lunch (there's always room for dessert...). Everyone was amazed.


Serves: 6 

  • 750ml water
  • 220g sugar
  • Juice of 6 blood oranges (5-6 oranges)
  • 75g cornflour
  • 1 measure orange liqueur
  • 300ml double cream

  1. Boil water with sugar. Stir some of the orange juice with the cornflour until smooth (so there are no lumps), then add all the orange juice. Add to the water and boil, stirring until the mixture is no longer cloudy.
  2. Allow to cool and set overnight in the refrigerator. The next day, beat the cream until stiff. Mix the orange mixture with the liqueur and stir until creamy. Beat with the cream and chill.
