About this recipe: For this heavenly dessert use frozen blueberries to enjoy it at any time of year. Fresh blueberries can also be used. It's a lovely crumble served warm with custard or vanilla ice cream.


Serves: 8 

  • 1kg fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 50g dark brown soft sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 175g dark brown soft sugar
  • 90g butter
  • 100g flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • pinch of nutmeg, or to taste
  • 50g porridge oats

  1. Preheat the oven to 190 C / Gas 5.
  2. Mix the blueberries with 50g brown sugar and lemon zest in a large bowl. Place into a greased baking dish.
  3. Work the butter, 100g flour, 175g brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and porridge oats into a crumble. Spread over the blueberries and bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes until it bubbles. Serve warm.
