    About this recipe: My mum invented this drink when we were overrun with fresh blackcurrants. You could try using redcurrants or another type of fruit - sweet, juicy raspberries, strawberries or blackberries might work well!

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 300g blackcurrants
    • 500ml buttermilk
    • Juice of 1 lemon
    • 4 tablespoons honey
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • Blackcurrant branches and lemon balm to the garnish

    Method

    1. Wash the blackcurrants and chop them in a blender or mixer. Then strain through a sieve.
    2. Mix the blackcurrant puree with buttermilk, lemon juice, honey and vanilla in a blender.
    3. Pour the mixture into nice, cold glasses and garnish with lemon leaves and currant branches and serve straightaway.
