About this recipe: This was my grandmother's cure for the winter chills - but only for adults. Nowadays, I enjoy it as much as ever, especially round Christmastime. You can also use freshly grated nutmeg for dusting along with the cinnamon.


Serves: 4 

  • 4 egg yolks
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 250ml rum
  • cinnamon for dusting

  1. Beat egg yolks with sugar until fluffy.
  2. Heat rum in a small saucepan, but do not boil, otherwise it will curdle the eggs.
  3. Pour the rum into the egg mixture in a thin stream, stirring continuously. Pour into glasses or mug and sprinkle with cinnamon.
