Easiest Ham and Pasta

Easiest Ham and Pasta

6 people made this

About this recipe: This is a classic children's meal but I often make it for myself as a quick lunch with a crisp green salad. It is really easy, tastes great both hot and cold, and you're always sure to have all of the ingredients to hand. Frozen garden peas make a healthy and tasty addition.

Serves: 4

  • 500g short pasta (penne, fussili, etc.)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 100g cooked ham, cubed
  • 1 egg (optional)
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Prep:5min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:20min

  1. Boil the pasta in salted water according to the packet instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. Five minutes before the pasta is finished, heat butter in a pan and sauté the ham. Add the drained pasta, beat an egg in the pan, and heat everything for a few minutes, stirring constantly. Season with salt and pepper just before serving.
