Quick Scones

    34 min

These scones are prefect for last minute guests. You should eat them while they're as fresh as possible, preferably while still warm so that the butter melts perfectly on them. And with jam, of course!

    1. Preheat oven to 220 C / Gas 7.
    2. Mix the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt in the food processor using the pulse setting. Add the butter in pieces and process to a crumble. Add the beaten eggs, cream and milk and run the machine until the dough forms thick clumps.
    3. Briefly and lightly knead the dough and divide into 10 pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and press flat. Place a good distance apart on a baking tray (lined with baking parchment or greased). Bake for 12-15 minutes in the preheated oven until golden-brown. Eat whilst warm.

To be honest I didn't like this recipe, firstly the recipe steps weren't in order, secondly after we completed the "recipe" the scones had a terrible taste as the amount of baking powder was way to much and thirdly when making scones you are meant to make it by hand as it makes it more fluffy therefore tasting better.  -  11 Jun 2017  (Review from Allrecipes AU | NZ)
