Lamb koftas with Moroccan sauce

About this recipe: Mouthwatering lamb kofta with Moroccan sauce. This recipe is brought to you by Seasoned Cookery School. Serve as canapes on cocktail sticks or as a main course with rice or salad. Suitable for children if you reduce the amount of spice added.

Serves: 3 

  • 150g minced lamb
  • 1/4 onion or shallots, chopped
  • oil
  • 1/4 garlic clove, crushed
  • 1 pinch ground ginger
  • 1 small pinch Cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 200g passata
  • 1 handful fresh coriander, chopped
  • salt and pepper

  1. Shape lamb mince into small balls.
  2. To make the sauce, sweat off the chopped onion in a little olive oil. Add garlic, ginger, Cayenne and cumin. Add the passata and stir.
  3. Add the lamb koftas into the sauce and the coriander and cook for 15 to 20 minutes. Season with salt and pepper and a sprinkle of chopped coriander or parsley.
